More details about our packages

A User license is an annual subscription to the Vanilla Platform that allows an Authorized User to access Vanilla via a username and password. Vanilla User licenses are sold as reflected in the chart above, and are subject to unique terms of use, as described below. Capitalized terms used herein have the definitions assigned to them in the Vanilla Main Services Agreement.

The license types are designed to map onto an advisory team’s structure. Advisory teams are typically composed of multiple advisors, support staff, and sometimes in-house planners. Each license type was designed to match personas we see most commonly in customer firms.

No, User licenses and Access Credentials may not be shared among Authorized Users. Each Authorized User must have their own User license.

The Advisor Advanced and Advisor Expert licenses each provide the Authorized User the ability to utilize the Vanilla Platform for that Authorized User’s full book of business. . Users of Advisor Advanced licenses and Advisor Expert licenses may not use their license to support clients of other advisors. The Planner license is intended to support  advisors and therefore does not include any client profiles. Advisors and planners may not share Access Credentials.

An Advisor Expert license may  be used by an advisor, while a Planner license may be used by an in-house estate strategist or estate planner in conjunction with an Advisor license. Both licenses include access to Vanilla Estate Builder. The Advisor Expert license is intended to be used for that advisor’s full book of business.

An Associate license is a data entry role only and  may only be purchased in connection with an Advisor license. This license is not entitled to client licenses or Vanilla Document Builder access beyond the terms of the associated Advisor license.  Any clients an Associate license holder creates or modifies will be associated with the Advisor’s client license.  Reports and client invites are connected to the Advisor License. Client deliverables or invites will have the name of the associated advisor on them.

An Attorney license may  be used by an attorney, while a Paralegal license is a data entry role only and  may only be purchased in connection with an Attorney license. This license is not entitled to client licenses or Vanilla Document Builder access beyond the terms of the associated Attorney license.  Any clients Paralegal license holder creates or modifies will be associated with the Attorney’s client license limit.  Reports and client invites are connected to the Attorney License. Client deliverables or invites will have the name of the associated attorney on them.

Vanilla Abstraction Services allow advisors to outsource the input of key data from estate planning documents. Vanilla abstracts key data directly from dispositive documents submitted by an advisor, and enters it into the Vanilla platform in order to visualize the key aspects of the client’s estate planning. Vanilla Abstraction Services do not provide legal advice or interpretations.

The Vanilla Abstraction Services Subscription is an annual subscription add-on that entitles the Subscriber to a set number of estate reviews for a fixed fee. With this subscription, the user is not required to purchase document abstraction tokens (DATs) for their estate reviews, as long as they are within the limit of their terms. Estate reviews must be used within the term dates of the subscription and cannot be rolled over. The estate review cap – the maximum number of estate reviews permitted per calendar year – is set forth in your Order Form.  In the absence of a specified estate review cap, the maximum number of estate reviews defaults to 20 per annual subscription.

In order to utilize a Vanilla Abstraction Services subscription, the Subscriber must enable V/AI in Estate Builder.

An Advisor Basic license enables advisors to invite their clients into Vanilla to create their estate plans. Your client will complete a simple, guided questionnaire to generate an estate plan based on templates crafted in partnership with top estate attorneys. Help text and knowledge base articles are available within the Vanilla application to help guide your clients along the way.

Your client may either self-print, or have Vanilla print and ship their estate documents to them. There is an additional charge ($100/package) for printing and shipping. Other features of the Vanilla platform may be temporarily accessible, however, use of such features is not included in the license.

Advisor Advanced and Advisor Expert licenses include the cost of the Essentials, Wills, Basic, and Advanced Trust Packages in Vanilla Document Builder for that Authorized User’s full book of business. These packages are intended for the advisor’s own clients and may not be shared across the firm.  Users of the Advisor Planner licenses will have access to Vanilla Document Builder and may invite clients to create documents. These services will be charged directly to you or your client, at your option. Each document package has a listed price on our website.
