WORDMARK

Vanilla’s logo is a wordmark. It is built from the Haffer SQ XH Bold font from Displaay Type Foundry.

  • The logo should always include the ® symbol.
  • Download logos in all sizes, formats, and colors here

COLOR

Vanilla’s logo can be rendered in 3 colors:

  • Dark Navy (default, on white or light backgrounds)
  • Indigo (less common, on white or light backgrounds)
  • Salt (on dark backgrounds)

USAGE GUIDELINES

A few simple rules for using the Vanilla logo:

  • Give logo ample spacing (use the “V” as a guidelines for minimum padding if unsure)
  • Place logo on solid color or subtle gradient backgrounds only
  • Do not distort, stretch, crop, or add effects like drop shadows or gradient and image fills.

PARTNER LOCKUPS

Guidelines for locking up the Vanilla logo with a partner logo:

  • Use 2 “V’s” as the baseline for spacing
  • Bisect the space with a line that is 1/5th the width of the “l” in the logo and 1.5x the height of the “V”
  • Optically adjust the size and position of the partner logo, this requires accounting for size and weight to create balance.
  • In the case of the Mariner logo to right, it has been scaled to a smaller height to account for its length, nudged left to account for the different space created by the “R” in relation to the Vanilla “V”, and nudged down to account for its all-caps styling in relation to Vanilla’s title case.

Secondary

The Vanilla brand also uses a wide palette of secondary colors.

Gradients

The brand also frequently uses low-contrast gradients, primarily as background fields.

Gradients should be low contrast to create a subtle effect. Gradients with wide ranges of saturation, value, or hue are not used. See examples of approved and incorrect gradients to the right.

Typography

Vanilla uses two fonts, both from the Displaay Type Foundry. Our primary font is Haffer SQ (with corresponding italics) and much more sparingly, Matter Mono (a monospaced version of Haffer). Contact design to request a font license.

Imagery

Vanilla marketing has 4 primary approaches to images: simplified and collaged product images, 1:1 product screens, illustrations, and simple icons. Photography is used sparingly.

Accessibility

Vanilla is committed to maintaining a standard of accessibility across all touchpoints from product to marketing.

This includes but is not limited to legible font sizes, ample color contrast, alt text for images, and linear layouts. Check out these resources for more information on accessible visual design:
